Minors in neuroscience & philosophy

Princeton University

As a recent graduate, I have a great appreciation for the enriching and rigorous environment that is Princeton University. I have always loved a challenge and both my academic environment and my peers in college have inspired me to constantly strive to be better.

The focus of my studies was directly human-centrist. I have many diverse passions and interests but what connects these interested is a love and fascination with people. I hold a specific fascination for understanding the way that people think and behave and was able to explore this by combining studies in psychology with neuroscience and philosophy.

Education

Princeton University is a liberal arts school requiring extensive
independent work and a breadth of steady across disciplines. Princeton’s
informal motto “in the nation’s service and in the service of humanity”
has played a major role in the shape of my studies and extracurricular
involvements in college.

Psychology, A.B.

Completing a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology I was able to explore in depth the ways we interact with one another, with ourselves, and with the world.

Ultimately, I seek to use my background in applied manner, allowing the principles, theories, and foundational understandings of my discipline to inform work aimed at expanding our understanding of ourselves.

Independent Work

For Princeton students, extensive independent work represents a significant focus during the upperclassman years.

My junior year I had the opportunity to research and complete two independent theoretical papers advised under faculty in the Department of Psychology on topics of great personal interest: (1) service and education and (2) mental well-being and healthy behavior.

In my senior year, I was able to independently run an experiment examining the effects of emotional framing on indicators of social activist behavior (n=260).

Junior Independent work

  • Fall 2023: A Capacity to Contribute: Improved or Impaired by Selective University Attendance?
  • Spring 2024: Entertainment-Driven Engagement: Exploring the Connection Between Evolving Social Media Features and Behavior with the Example of Problematic Short-Form Video (SV) Usage

Senior Thesis Work

  • The Effects of Hope and Fear Framing on ‘Social Activist’- Aligned Behavior
